What is Dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is a non-invasive exfoliation treatment that gently removes dead skin cells and fine vellus hair (peach fuzz) using a sterile surgical blade. This process reveals a smoother, brighter complexion, enhances product absorption, and provides an instant glow. It's safe, pain-free, and suitable for most skin types, leaving the skin silky soft and refreshed.
For optimal results, dermaplaning is typically recommended every 4 to 6 weeks—which aligns with your skin’s natural regeneration cycle.
Most clients see immediate improvement after just one session, but to maintain that smooth, radiant glow and enhance long-term skin health, regular monthly treatments are ideal.
Candidates for Dermaplaning
Dermaplaning is ideal for most skin types—especially those looking for a gentle yet effective glow-up!
The perfect candidate for dermaplaning is someone who:
Wants smoother, brighter skin instantly
Has dull, dry, or uneven skin texture
Wants to remove peach fuzz (vellus hair) for a flawless makeup application
Struggles with mild acne scarring or sun damage
Prefers a non-invasive, pain-free exfoliation method
Is not experiencing active acne or severe skin sensitivities
Before your Appointment:
Remove all makeup, moisturizers and fragrances prior to the treatment.
Avoid deliberate or excessive sun exposure for at least 2 weeks before your treatment.
Do not use tanning lotions or oral tanning tablets for at least 2 weeks before the next session.
Avoid using active ingredients, such as retinoids, AHAs/BHAs, vitamin C, and other exfoliating products, for 5-7 days prior to your treatment.
Avoid any hair removal treatments on the area to be treated for at least 5-7 days prior to your appointment.
Post-treatment Care:
Avoid excessive sun exposure for at least 2 weeks post-treatment.
An SPF50 should be applied and re-applied daily.
Avoid hot baths/showers/saunas and exercise for at least 2 days post-treatment. Opt for a mild, fragrance-free cleanser to keep skin clean without irritation.
Avoid using active ingredients, such as retinoids, AHAs/BHAs, vitamin C, and other exfoliating products, for 5-7 days after to your treatment as they can irritate healing skin.
Avoid touching, scratching, or peeling flaky skin to prevent scarring and infection. Skip makeup for at least 24 hours, as it can clog pores and hinder the healing process.
